From Desquamtion to Inflammation

Epidermal Proteases are responsible for the Desquamation Process in healthy Skin. Their activity and function is tightly controlled. Uncontrolled proteases contribute to the initiation of inflammatory responses in human skin. We are interested how epidermal proteases are controlled in skin and how their deregulation leads to inflammatory responses.
